Urgent Prayer

November 5, 2007

Paul had a bad episode today with diaphoresis, low blood pressure, & thready pulse. He had to be transported by ambulance to the ER. Right now he is in the intensive care unit at El Camino Hospital, since the Stanford ER was closed to incoming ambulances. He will be getting three units of blood transfused overnight as he had a hemoglobin of 5 Gm, down from 9.7 on Thursday.

Paul and I started the morning with a good visit with sisters Jane and Joye. Shortly after Jane left, it was decided to call the paramedics. Thankfully, sister Joye was here to assist us and stayed with me through the evening. Drew was able to make it to the hospital just before Paul needed to rest for the night.

The plan is for an endoscopy in the morning to figure out the source of internal bleeding and determine further intervention. Please pray for wisdom of the GI doctor tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM. Also, please pray for God's healing and guidance for the next steps to take. Pray that Paul will have peace & rest tonight.

I have been comforted by scripture this morning in Psalm 139 "All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

Our words fail us...Holy Spirit and Lord Jesus, please take over and give Paul, Bonnie, and family Your peace and comfort, and the medical personnel special power and correct judgment. Thank you for your Presence!

The Apostle Paul instructed us to "pray without ceasing." That kind of makes the once or twice a day, which some of us would otherwise consider a considerable contribution, pretty pale in comparison. Lord, help us all to hold up Paul and Bonnie far more frequently.

Thank you Bonnie for keeping us up to date, even with news that is hard to hear.

Romans 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express"

I'll pray that the Spirit guides us all in prayer for what Paul, Bonnie, family and physicians need.

Bonnie,
You both are such an encouragement to us with your faithfulness... our prayers alongside those of so many others will only increase as we look to our Heavenly Father to grant peace and direction. May you know a special sense of His presence at this time. Our God provides!

Bonnie and Paul - we have been thinking about you so much and praying fervently today that you would be sensing the Lord's healing presence in a very profound way. Thanks you Bonnie for keeping us so well informed.

We love you both,

Bonnie,
This is Kim Harney one of Pauls ex residents from Valley/Stanford. I sent an email Oct 18 with a suggestion about possible explanation of his symptoms: internal bleeding in the pancreas, which may occur after the Trilogy treatment. The remedy can be an Embolization procedure. Dr Koongs Trilogy team should know about this and you should make sure that they are updated about whats going on at El Camino. If I can be of anyhelp please contact me via my Stanford pager 415 607 4384.
